History Casino
The casino was founded in 1936 by Valère Grysole. The left section housed a hotel, café, and restaurant. The right section housed a cinema. As a member of the film committee, Valère personally selected the films shown there during the weekends in Brussels. He also owned a cinema in Nieuwkerke. In the 1960s, the cinema was removed and the building was divided into two parts; the characteristic "casino" lettering on the facade disappeared.
In the early 1990s, Philippe Félix and his mother ran the building as a restaurant-tearoom under the name "Casino." They consciously preserved the historic atmosphere, incorporating old photos and respecting the original menu traditions.
After a short break, Philippe Félix has been running the Casino again since mid-2025!
